The Grove Wedding Photography – Danielle and Nigel’s Jewish Wedding
I really love Jewish weddings. The constant titanic swing from serenity to chaos and back again. The peace of the chuppah followed by an eruption of emotion after the smashing of the glass. The sophistication of the drinks reception followed immediately by the onset of chaos of the Israeli dancing and back to quiet for the speeches which are always super emotional and all-encompassing. I’ve never known anything like it and it’s a rollercoaster for the bride, groom and guests let alone me as the photographer!
Danielle and Nigel had their wedding at The Grove, near Watford just outside London. The Grove is a really beautiful hotel and country estate, you really wouldn’t know you were so close to the capital. They had their chuppah ceremony outside which was a risk with the weather being 50/50 for rain, but they went ahead with it anyway. It didn’t rain until they were under the chuppah, and stopped before they were ready to emerge as husband and wife after a really beautiful, emotionally-charged ceremony.
It was really such a pleasure to capture Danielle and Nigel’s wedding at The Grove. They’re a couple very very much in love and that was a pleasure to see and capture throughout their wedding. They’re also extremely lucky to have such close and loving families and friend groups who are also prepared to tear up the dance floor with them for five hours straight! An epic day and such great fun. Big thanks also to my great friend Rahul Khona for helping me at this one.
